History

Punch Telematix stood literally at the cradle of wireless data transfer; its foundations having been laid in 2001 by parent company Punch.
Thanks to a number of strategic acquisitions of best-of-breed technology providers and agreements with large telecommunications operators, Punch Telematix has grown to become one of the benchmarks for telematics services in Western Europe.

Punch Telematix has been listed on Eurolist by Euronext Brussels since 29 November 2006.

2001

Belgium-based telematics pioneer Advantra International is taken over by Punch. Advantra was founded in 1988 and specialised in the development of pagers. In the late nineteen nineties, the company shifted its focus to two-way communication.

2004

In January 2004, Belgian company Acunia is taken over. Acunia's technology forms the basis of the CarCubeTM on-board computer and the FleetWorksTM back-office applications.

2005

Belgian company Wevada, developer of the CarBox on-board computer, is taken over in May.

 

With the acquisition of Dutch company ICS - European market leader in the development of on-board computers for logistics applications and transport management solutions - the telematics cluster assumes concrete form.

Punch Telematix is a fact.

2006

In March, Punch Telematix takes over Belgian company Alturion, one of the world's pioneers of mobile navigation.

 

The acquisition of French company Atimis is finalised in September. As a result, Punch Telematix further expands its geographical presence.

 

In November, Punch Telematix is successfully floated. Punch Telematix (PTX) has been listed on Eurolist by Euronext Brussels since 29 November 2006. Punch is the majority shareholder holding approximately 63% of the shares.
