The assignment
Foronex was looking for a solution for a variety of tasks: tracking the vehicle fleet, drivers and the consumption of fuel, complying with the Driving Hours Decree, assisting with preliminary and subsequent costing, recording loaded quantities more quickly to ensure faster invoicing of the client, communicating more effectively with drivers and passing on orders efficiently. Modernising the access control and tank recording systems at the various offices was also included on the company's wish list.
The solution
Following thorough preparation, in as little as 2 months 130 vehicles had already been fitted with the CarCube on-board computer with integrated data and voice communication, navigation and GPS. Perfect integration with the back-office applications Navision Financials and Fleetwatch was also achieved.
The impact
"Punch Telematix's software is completely transparent and simple to integrate into our ERP package. We do not even need to log into Fleetworks as all the data is available on our own back office system. All the data is presented to us on a silver platter," explains John Nijs, IT Manager.
"The company's operations can now be run much more efficiently as we have access to the information we need in real time. From the back office, the dispatching department sends orders to the on-board computer fully automatically. The driver accepts the task and reports regularly on his status as he carries it out. This information is processed immediately by administration. We are therefore able to respond quickly and make adjustments where necessary."
Our decision

Thanks to the open-mindedness and open architecture of Punch Telematix, collaborating with other parties in order to realise the total solution we were aiming for was also not a problem. The CarCube was, therefore, the only logical choice," concludes John Nijs.
